In January 1972, Kearns & Murtagh was established by two mechanics, Pat Murtagh and Vincent Kearns. Specialising in commercial vehicle sales and servicing, the company was formed in a small garage on the Chancellors Road in Newry. Having moved to new premises in 1975 on Cecil Street, the company has blossomed ever since. Now as one of the longest running businesses of its kind today, Kearns & Murtagh employ forty other people and operate out of two depots.

The main depot and Head Office is located in Unit 3a Carnbane Business Park, Lisduff, Newry BT35 6QH, while the other K & M Commercials Ltd, Moortown, Dublin Road Dundalk Co.Louth A91 Yh66 and is also an authorised VTN centre.
